The VWEA/AWWA Utility Management Committee's Effective Utility
Management Workshop will be held February 24th from 8:45 to 11:45.
The workshop which will be held at the Western Virginia Water
Authority's Spring Hollow Water Treatment Plant in Roanoke, Virginia,
is designed for utility leaders and others supporting their work. To

FWQA Chesapeake Bay Watershed Luncheon

The Federal Water Quality Association's (FWQA) February luncheon will
be held on Wednesday, February 24 at the Channel Inn in Washington,
D.C. The luncheon topic is The Next Generation of Water…Challenges and Opportunities: “Improving Water Quality in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed”
and will feature Mr. Jeff Lape, Director of the Chesapeake Bay program,
as the guest speaker.
Please join us as Jeff discusses the current condition of the Bay,
current planning and clean up activities, including implementation of
President Obama’s Executive Order 13508, signed on May 12, 2009. The
Chesapeake Bay Protection and Restoration Executive Order recognizes
the Chesapeake Bay as a national treasure and calls on the federal
government to lead a renewed effort to restore and protect the nation’s
largest estuary and its watershed.
