Changes in the Chesapeake – what have we learned and where does it go from here?

This 1-day seminar, sponsored by the VWEA Stormwater Committee, will focus on recent research findings and lessons learned as we’ve all worked to improve water quality in the Chesapeake Bay. The workshop will discuss recent updates to the Chesapeake Bay Model, updates to local planning targets, the development of the Phase III WIP, and ongoing research on loading rates from urban stormwater runoff and stream bank erosion. Overall, this workshop will assist attendees in better understanding both the technical changes to nutrient load allocations, reductions, and reporting, as well as how, at the macro scale, communities continue to adapt and ramp up their programs to meet the next phase of water quality goals. The seminar will consist of a combination of presentations, panels, and collaborative opportunities to share knowledge across communities and regions. There will also be an opportunity for vendors to showcase their products and services related to stormwater management.

CEC potential credits available (PE): 5.5 It is the responsibility of the individual seeking the CECs to determine if the technical presentations meet the requirements of 18 VAC 10-20-683.
